Abstract:  The Meaning, the Roll and the Importance of Sport Activities in the Context of European Integration. This paper presents prioritary data related to the notion of Sports, as it is described by some definitions given to this notion, which can be found in those sources written and elaborated by several outstanding personalities from the European civil life. Romania has intercepted, as well, the role and the importance of the sports activity as it can be seen in the studies of some scientifical life personalities. We may draw the conclusion that the sense, the role, the importance and the acceptance of these activities inside the Romanian society are of European type and their concret defining by adequate measures depends on the implied factors of the authority. Otherwise, our predecessors’ efforts, which we, and many others, have already presented, would be useless. On the law ground, there are more and more obvious all the steps obtained in the sphere of unification and the new consciousness of the European citizen is clearer and clearer. In fact, we wish to live in a free, open society, where the sports activities should be defined as socially important ones. Our consistency may be viewed as part of the civil society efforts, as far as, the European integration in concerned.
